DO
YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO IS STRESSED OUT, OR RECOVERING FROM MUSCULAR INJURY OR
ILLNESS, OR SUFFERS FROM CHRONIC BACK/NECK PAINS?
YOU MAY WANT TO
INTRODUCE THEM TO FLOATATION THERAPY
First
discovered by Dr John Lily in the 1950’s in mind-brain research, floatation
therapy has been used effectively by various people – professionals and
individuals interested in self-development – to achieve different purposes. The
most common uses are:
ü
As a compliment to medical treatment to speed up recovery from illness
and surgery, particularly where weight hampers recovery, e.g. joints and
backbone problems. Resting in weightlessness accelerates the natural healing process
ü
Sports training and treatment by professional athletes and sports
institutions. Floatation
therapy accelerates recovery from injury and the building of muscles, and
enhances skills training/development
ü
To effect behavioural change by clinicians treating addicts and
neurotic conditions. Deep rest creates more
balanced emotional states and allows for behavioural reprogramming
ü
For creative thinking by artists, individuals interested in
self-improvement and academics. The brain enters into the theta state during floating
enhancing intuition and holistic thinking
FLOATATION
THERAPY IS NOT A MIRACLE CURE SO DON’T EXPECT TO BE TRANSOFRMED AFTER TRYING IT
ONCE
IT IS VERY EFFECTIVE FOR ACHIEVING OPTIMAL MENTAL, EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH BUT THE PERSON MUST FIRST LEARN HOW TO FLOAT PROPERLY
BEFORE
EXPERIENCING THE BENEFITS
IT
ONLY TAKES BETWEEN 2 TO 4 SESSIONS TO BECOME A ‘GOOD FLOATER’
FLOATATION
THERAPY IS EASY TO LEARN, DOES NOT INVOLVE CONSUMING SUBSTANCES AND HAS NO
NEGATIVE SIDE EFFECTS
TODAY, HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE FLOATED IN NEARLY 50 COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD SINCE THE 1950’S
AT GOODVIBES, WE MAKE FLOATATION THERAPY AFFORDABLE IN ORDER TO
ENCOURAGE MORE PEOPLE TO MAKE US OF THIS POWERFUL TECHNOLOGY.
OUR PRICE B$40 (OTHER PLACES – AROUND B$100) PER HOUR
You
will be given a voucher for 25% discount on a float session for every lamp and
or candleholder purchased (total value of B$30 or above) at Goodvibes
The voucher can be used by anyone who you choose to give to. Just quote the voucher number when making your booking or when visiting the Mindspa for the session.
Note: If you have 2 vouchers, you can use them together to get a 50% discount. Similarly, you use 3 vouchers to get a 75% discount and so on.
What is floatation
therapy?
Scientifically
known as Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy (REST).
It
involves simply lying inside a floatation tank for about 1 hour.
A
floatation tank is a sensory deprivation chamber that contains warm water about
10 inches deep and supersaturated with Epsom Salt.
What
happens during REST?
The
water is so dense that we float like a cork.
Our
mind cannot sense gravity and this frees a large amount of energy (about 90%)
used by the brain to deal with the effects of gravity (e.g. keep us from
falling over, do complicated movements and pump blood up and around the body).
And
so our body (including the brain) regenerate much faster than normal.
The
parts that are most affected by gravity, like backbone, neck and leg joints,
are able to heal easier; the heart slows down as blood flow become easier.
Brain
vibration slows down from beta state to alpha (8-13 Hz) and even to theta (4 –
8 Hz) and delta (< 3 Hz), making us feel deeply relaxed, sometimes falling
into deep sleep
The
mind expands as the left and right hemispheres of the brain integrate, making
us see things more holistically
The
neurotransmitter endorphine is normally released during REST, making us feel
“good”.
What is
involved in REST?
The
‘floater’ begins with a shower to wash off body oils, dirt, etc.
Then
step into the tank and gently slide into a supine (lying flat on back)
position.
Music
will be played for about 20 minutes to help the floater relax and get use to
the strange new environment inside the tank; a video may also be played if
needed to help the floater let go of fixating to the new environment and to
start relaxing.
After
about 20 minutes, the light, sound and TV are turned off.
By this time, the floater will be deeply relaxed, with eyes closed, floating in total darkness and silence.
The
floater will become very aware of inner activities, especially heartbeat,
breathing, muscles twitching, etc. as the body regenerates.
After
an hour or so, the lights will come on again and relaxing music played.
This
marks the end of the session, and the floater can take some time to stretch
gently and slowly and when ready, slide open the door and step out of the tank.
Shower
to wash off the epsom salt, taking special care to rinse the ears to remove any
salt that may deposit inside.
Have
a nice cool glass of tea or water as you relax and enjoy your revitalised self
